K-pop star reveals wedding thoughts on variety show while agency shuts down recurring romance speculation

G-Dragon has opened up about his marriage plans during a recent variety show appearance, while his agency simultaneously denied the latest round of dating rumors with actress Lee Joo-yeon.

On May 14, G-Dragon appeared on comedian Park Myung-soo's YouTube show "Halmyungsoo," where he candidly discussed his thoughts on marriage. When asked about wedding plans in his 30s, the rapper responded: "It's not that I haven't thought about it. Of course I have, but I'm not thinking about it seriously right now."

The conversation took an amusing turn when G-Dragon revealed he's never performed at weddings, not even for his sister who requested it. "I've actually never sung at anyone's wedding before," he said. "But if I get married, I'll sing at my own wedding."

The appearance marked the duo's first reunion in 14 years since their successful 2011 collaboration on "Infinite Challenge."

On June 6, G-Dragon's agency Galaxy Corporation issued a statement denying dating rumors with former After School member Lee Joo-yeon: "The dating rumors that have been spreading about G-Dragon and Lee Joo-yeon are not true."

The latest speculation began in April when Lee Joo-yeon posted an Instagram Story photo showing her with a cat on a couch. Fans noticed the background appeared to match G-Dragon's home interior, with similar artwork and furniture. The cat was also wearing what appeared to be the same Chanel scarf accessory seen on G-Dragon's pet.

This marks the fifth time the celebrities have been romantically linked since 2017:

  • 2017: Initial rumors from social media posts, both agencies denied relationship
  • 2018: Dispatch reported four-day Jeju Island trip together
  • 2019: Lee Joo-yeon briefly posted then deleted video featuring G-Dragon
  • 2025: Latest Instagram photo analysis by fans
  • June 2025: Official denial from Galaxy Corporation

Fan reactions have been mixed, with some expressing frustration at perceived attention-seeking behavior while others call for privacy respect.

The 36-year-old artist recently left YG Entertainment to sign with Galaxy Corporation and released his comeback single "Power" in October 2024. His third studio album "Übermensch" is scheduled for February 25, 2025.

Regarding his career longevity, G-Dragon told Park Myung-soo: "I haven't set an age [for retirement]. I still get inspired and feel passionate, so I'll keep going as long as that continues."

Despite years of speculation about his personal life, G-Dragon appears focused on his music career while remaining open to marriage when the right time comes.
