BTS has made Billboard history once again. Their first-ever live album "Permission to Dance on Stage - Live" debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart dated August 2, 2025, making them the Korean artist with the most top 10 albums ever.

The live album earned 43,000 equivalent units in its first week, with 36,000 from traditional sales, 5,000 streaming units, and 2,000 track units. This achievement gives BTS their eighth Billboard 200 top 10 entry-a new record for any Korean act.

BTS joins an exclusive club as only the third artist to reach the Billboard 200 top 10 with a live recording, following Taylor Swift and Metallica.

The group also dominated multiple Billboard charts simultaneously:

  • World Albums: No. 1
  • Top Album Sales: No. 2
  • Top Current Albums: No. 2

Perhaps most impressively, BTS became the first artist to sweep all 10 positions on the World Digital Song Sales chart with live recordings. "Permission to Dance - Live" claimed the top spot, with "ON - Live" at No. 2 and "Fire - Live" at No. 3.

This extends BTS's record as the artist with the most No. 1 hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart, now totaling 39.

Released July 18, 2025, the 22-track album captures BTS's 2021-2022 Permission to Dance tour, which included 12 shows across Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. The tour drew 4 million total attendees through in-person concerts, live viewings, and online streaming.

The album features live versions of hits like "Dynamite," "Butter," "Life Goes On," and "Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)." A digital Seoul concert package with behind-the-scenes footage was also released.

Individual BTS members continue performing well on global charts:

Global 200 Rankings:

  • J-Hope's "Killin' It Girl (feat. GloRilla)": No. 81
  • Jin's "Don't Say You Love Me": No. 112
  • Jimin's "Who": No. 134
  • Jung Kook's "Seven (feat. Latto)": No. 151

Global Excluding US Rankings:

  • J-Hope: No. 45
  • Jin: No. 48
  • Jimin: No. 79
  • Jung Kook: No. 82

All seven members completed military service and announced their group comeback for spring 2026. They're currently in the US working on new music and concert preparations.

This live album success proves BTS's enduring global appeal even during their hiatus, setting high expectations for their highly anticipated 2026 reunion and world tour.

The achievement reinforces BTS's position as groundbreaking artists who continue redefining success for Korean acts on international charts-proving their concert experiences translate powerfully to recorded format.
