BLACKPINK Kaohsiung Concert 2025: Historic Return Draws 120,000 Fans and $9.8M Revenue
BLACKPINK kicked off their DEADLINE Asia tour with back-to-back sold-out shows at Taiwan's Kaohsiung National Stadium on October 18-19, 2025, making history as the first K-pop group to perform at the venue twice.
Record-Breaking Attendance and Economic Impact
The weekend concerts attracted over 120,000 attendees-including ticketholders and fans outside the venue-generating more than NT$300 million (US$9.8 million) in tourism revenue for Kaohsiung. All tickets sold out during the June 12 presale, demonstrating the group's massive draw nearly two years after their last visit.
The city's metro system reported record ridership, with 323,601 passengers on Saturday and 281,511 on Sunday. Local businesses benefited significantly, with night market vendors at Liuhe, Ruifeng, and Jilin reporting sales increases of at least 30 percent.
Explosive Performances and Unique Setlists
The quartet-Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa-delivered high-energy performances featuring hits like "Kill This Love," "Pink Venom," "How You Like That," and "Shut Down." Each member performed solo stages with unique setlists different from previous tour stops.
A standout moment came when Rosé performed "APT.," her collaboration with Bruno Mars. The song has dominated global charts since its October 2024 release, spending 12 weeks at number one on the Billboard Global 200 and setting streaming records worldwide.
Historic Venue Achievement
BLACKPINK now holds the record as the Korean artists with the most performances at Kaohsiung National Stadium. Combined with their March 2023 BORN PINK tour stop, the group has sold over 190,000 tickets across four shows at the venue-a feat unmatched by any K-pop act.
Tour Continues Across Asia
The DEADLINE tour continues with 18 shows across seven cities. BLACKPINK performs next in Bangkok at Rajamangala National Stadium on October 24, followed by stops in Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong through January 2026.
New Music on the Horizon
YG Entertainment confirmed on October 20 that BLACKPINK began filming their new music video, marking their first group comeback since 2022's BORN PINK album. The agency stated that preparations are in final stages, with the album prioritizing musical quality before release.
The DEADLINE tour marks BLACKPINK's first headline trek since the BORN PINK World Tour (2022-2023), which became the highest-grossing tour by a girl group, drawing 1.8 million fans across 66 shows in 34 cities.
With successful Kaohsiung concerts completed and new music in production, BLACKPINK continues cementing their position as global K-pop leaders.
