Dreamcatcher's Siyeon Returns with Co-Ed Rock Band ChRocktikal in January 2026
Dreamcatcher's main vocalist Siyeon is launching a new chapter in her career with ChRocktikal, a four-member co-ed rock band set to debut January 15, 2026.
The band dropped their tracklist on January 9 for their debut full-length album "We Break, You Awake." The 12-track project includes title song "Peace," along with "Intro: CRTK," "Victor," "KALish," "Ride," "Flight," "All in on me," "My Us," "Iris," "Masterpiece," "Free!," and bonus track "Memory Box."
ChRocktikal brings together musicians with both idol and live-band experience. Siyeon leads as vocalist and producer, joined by guitarist/producer Lee Won Seok, bassist Lee Jun Young (former IZ member), and drummer Je Gwan Woo (The Idol Band: Boy's Battle contestant).
Members Drive Creative Direction
The album credits tell the story-Siyeon and Won Seok appear on every track as producers, with all four members participating throughout the creation process. Won Seok brings professional session work credentials, having played guitar for Super Junior's Ryeowook and BOL4.
This level of member involvement isn't common for debut projects. Having two in-house producers signals the band's commitment to authentic, self-directed music rather than manufactured pop.
Bold Debut Strategy
Most new groups test the waters with singles or mini-albums. ChRocktikal's choosing to debut with a full 12-track album instead-a move that shows confidence in their artistic vision.
The band name combines "chrome" (metallic boldness), "rock" (their core sound), and "kal" (칼, Korean for sword-representing sharpness and directness). That same edge comes through in the album title "We Break, You Awake," which hints at disruption and awakening themes.
From Dreamcatcher to Rock Band
Siyeon's transition makes sense given Dreamcatcher's rock-influenced sound. The group carved out a unique space in K-pop with heavy guitar riffs and dark concepts, and Siyeon's powerful vocals were central to that identity.
The timing also reflects shifts within Dreamcatcher Company. Three members-Handong, Dami, and Gahyeon-ended their contracts in March 2025, though they'll continue group activities. The company's now supporting both Dreamcatcher and individual projects like ChRocktikal.
ChRocktikal's debut hits streaming platforms at 6 PM KST on January 15, with both vinyl and CD versions available for pre-order.
