(G)I-DLE Wraps First Japan Arena Tour with Record-Breaking Oricon Success
The K-pop group's debut arena tour sells out across four shows while their Japanese EP reclaims chart throne
(G)I-DLE has successfully wrapped their first-ever Japan arena tour, marking a major milestone for the five-member group with sold-out performances and unprecedented chart success.
Kobe Finale Caps Historic Tour
The tour, titled '2025 i-dle First Japan Tour [逢い-dle]' (meaning "meeting i-dle"), concluded with back-to-back shows at GLION Arena Kobe on October 18-19. The group-Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua-kicked off the four-show run at Saitama Super Arena on October 4-5 before heading to Kobe.
The final concert was livestreamed globally on October 19, letting fans worldwide join the celebration. One surprise moment came when Miyeon made an unexpected center-stage appearance, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
"Wherever we go, meeting so many fans gives us tremendous strength," the members said during the closing remarks. "We'll work hard so everyone we met can keep smiling."
Chart Domination During Tour Dates
Their Japanese EP "i-dle" made history by reclaiming the number one spot on the Oricon Daily Album Chart from October 18-20-two weeks after its initial October 3 release. The EP first debuted at number one and also topped Billboard Japan, Apple Music, iTunes, and China's QQ Music.
The album includes five tracks, with title song "Where Do We Go" (どうしよっかな) written and composed by leader Soyeon. Other tracks include "Farewell to the World" (愛せなかった世界へ永遠にじゃあね), "Invincible," and Japanese versions of their Korean hits "Queencard" and "Fate."
Setlist Balances New Material with Fan Favorites
The concerts opened with "Where Do We Go" and featured both new Japanese tracks and career-spanning hits including "Klaxon," "Wife," "TOMBOY," and "MY BAG." What really touched Japanese fans was the inclusion of previously released Japanese versions of classics like "LATATA," "Senorita," "Uh-Oh," and "DUMDi DUMDi."
Yuqi gave fans a sneak peek of "M.O.," her solo track released in September, while the group announced Miyeon's upcoming solo comeback. Miyeon's second mini-album "MY, Lover" drops November 3-her first solo release in three and a half years.
Members Share Heartfelt Reflections
Individual members took time to connect with fans in Japanese. "Thank you for coming today. Did you enjoy the show?" Soyeon said. "Thank you for listening to our new album. Your love motivates us even more."
Yuqi, showing off her improving Japanese skills, playfully asked, "Is my Japanese getting better?" while Shuhua expressed her surprise at the crowd's energy: "The cheers were so loud-it made me so happy. I love you."
Reflecting on the tour's success, Soyeon shared: "This was our first Japanese album and tour. We didn't expect so many Neverlands would be here. I'm grateful we gained even more fans through these shows."
What's Next for (G)I-DLE
The group has a packed schedule ahead. Beyond Miyeon's November solo comeback, they're preparing for their next group album while planning a world tour for next year.
"Miyeon's album comes out next month and I'm really excited for it," Soyeon said. "Even though we're busy, we're working on our team album whenever we can. We want to spend the rest of this year happily preparing to meet more Neverlands through next year's world tour."
The successful arena tour proves (G)I-DLE's growing dominance in the Japanese market and solidifies their reputation as one of K-pop's most self-sufficient groups, with members heavily involved in writing and producing their own music.
