NCT's Jeno and Jaemin Unite as NCT JNJM for Debut Mini Album 'BOTH SIDES'
SM Entertainment duo drops six-track debut on February 23, with choreography by acclaimed "Queen of Swag" RIEHATA
NCT members Jeno and Jaemin are stepping into new territory as a two-member unit under the name NCT JNJM, releasing their first mini album BOTH SIDES on February 23 at 6 PM KST across all major streaming platforms.
The six-track debut - featuring the title track of the same name alongside "I.D.O.L.," "What It Is," "HASHTAG," "WIND UP," and "sexier" - centers on the concept of duality, built around the contrasting yet complementary charms of the two performers.
A Decade of Chemistry Pays Off
Jeno and Jaemin are far from strangers to collaboration. The two have worked side by side since their trainee days and through years of NCT and NCT DREAM activities, building more than a decade of chemistry before this unit debut. That long-standing partnership shapes the entire identity of BOTH SIDES, an album designed to showcase not just how different the two are, but how those differences forge something stronger together.
SM Entertainment described the project as capturing moments where Jeno and Jaemin each express their distinct individual colors, as well as moments when they blend seamlessly - "as if one body" - to create perfect balance.
The Title Track: Hip-Hop With a Twist
The title track "BOTH SIDES" is a hip-hop dance number built on sharp sound design, fluid drum beats, and a playful mix of vocals and rap. Lyrically, the song delivers a confident message: that two contrasting charms, rather than canceling each other out, become the most powerful tool for capturing attention.
The performance was crafted by RIEHATA (Rie Hata), the Japanese-Filipino choreographer widely known as the "Queen of Swag." A veteran of K-pop's biggest stages, she has previously created choreography for BTS ("Idol," "Mic Drop"), Red Velvet ("Bad Boy"), NCT U ("Boss"), and TWICE ("Signal"), among others. For NCT JNJM, she delivered a routine grounded in hip-hop groove while layering in witty, expressive gestures that bring the song's playful tone to life on stage.
The choreography makes a point of visually interpreting the album's title - contrasting movements in left-right and front-back directions physically embody the concept of "both sides." Specific hand gestures tied to the lyrics serve as standout point moments, amplifying the energy and personality Jeno and Jaemin bring to every performance.
What to Expect
BOTH SIDES is a unit debut that leans into performance as its primary language. With RIEHATA's choreography anchoring the visual identity and a tracklist spanning six distinct tracks, the album positions NCT JNJM as a project built on the strength of two performers who know each other well enough to make their differences look effortless.
