Jin Wins Male Artist of the Year at SEC Awards 2025: Complete Solo Success Story

BTS member continues chart-topping streak with Echo album and global touring milestones
BTS member Jin claimed the "Male Artist of the Year" award at Brazil's SEC Awards 2025, adding another accolade to his remarkable solo career trajectory. The Brazilian entertainment portal Séries em Cena announced winners on August 3, recognizing Jin alongside fellow BTS members who swept multiple categories.
Jin's second solo album "Echo" debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, earning 43,000 equivalent album units in its first week. This achievement marks his highest-charting position as a solo artist, surpassing his previous album "Happy" which peaked at No. 4.
Chart Data confirmed "Echo" as the best-selling Korean solo artist album in the U.S. for 2025's first half in pure sales, despite its May 16 release date occurring midway through the tracking period.
Jin's title track "Don't Say You Love Me" reached No. 1 on Spotify's Global Top 50 chart, becoming the first and only song by an Asian artist to achieve this milestone in 2025. This accomplishment places Jin among only three K-pop solo artists ever to top Spotify's global rankings, joining bandmates Jungkook and Jimin.
Six of Echo's seven tracks dominated the top 6 positions on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart, with "Nothing Without Your Love" debuting at No. 1. Jin now holds eight No. 1 positions on this chart, making him the first K-pop soloist to reach this milestone.
Jin secured first place in The Fact Music Awards' "TMA Best Music - Summer" category, defeating 19 other artists including SEVENTEEN and fellow BTS member J-Hope. He will receive this award at the September ceremony in Macao.
His #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR spans nine cities with 18 sold-out shows, running from June 28 in Goyang through August 10 in Amsterdam. The tour supports both his debut album "Happy" and latest release "Echo."
Beyond U.S. success, "Echo" entered the UK Official Albums Chart at No. 63, marking Jin's first appearance on both Billboard 200 and UK charts simultaneously. The title track also debuted at No. 58 on the UK Official Singles Chart while topping three component rankings.
In Asian markets, "Don't Say You Love Me" maintained the No. 1 position on Spotify Japan for 18 consecutive days and topped Korea charts for two days.
The SEC Awards recognition caps a year of unprecedented solo achievements for Jin, positioning him as a dominant force in global music markets while maintaining his BTS legacy.
