NCT's Haechan brings his R&B-focused solo debut to Korean television this week, performing across all four major music programs following the successful release of his first album "TASTE."

Music Show Schedule and Performance Details

Haechan kicked off his solo promotion cycle with an appearance on Mnet's "M Countdown" on September 11, showcasing his debut title track "CRZY." The 25-year-old artist will continue his television debut this week with performances on KBS2's "Music Bank" (September 12), MBC's "Show! Music Core" (September 13), and SBS's "Inkigayo" (September 14).

Album Achievement and Chart Success

Released on September 8 at 6 PM KST, "TASTE" contains 11 tracks including the title song "CRZY". The R&B-focused album achieved immediate commercial success, topping domestic music charts and reaching #1 on iTunes charts in 20 regions while entering the top 10 in 33 countries worldwide.

SM Entertainment explained the album title's dual meaning: Haechan sharing his musical taste cultivated since childhood while allowing fans to "taste" his music as a solo artist for the first time.

"CRZY" Song and Performance Analysis

The title track blends early 2000s hip-hop elements with R&B pop dance, featuring guitar-driven instrumentation and rhythmic vocals. Critics have noted Michael Jackson influences in Haechan's choreography, particularly in the controlled spins and smooth movements during the chorus.

The music video concept centers around an art gallery setting, with Haechan's character influenced by artwork that metaphorically represents attraction and relationships. The visual premiered through YouTube channel 1theK's "On the Spot" series on September 10.

Historical Context Within NCT

Haechan becomes the 7th NCT member to debut solo, following Taeyong, Ten, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Yuta, and Mark. Since debuting with NCT 127 in July 2016, he has served as main vocalist across multiple subunits including NCT 127, NCT Dream, and NCT U.

The solo debut represents a significant milestone in Haechan's nine-year career, demonstrating SM Entertainment's continued strategy of developing individual artist identities within their group framework.

What's Next

With strong initial chart performance and positive reception of his music show appearances, Haechan's solo career launch positions him alongside his NCT bandmates who have successfully established individual artistic identities. The comprehensive R&B album showcases his vocal abilities and artistic vision beyond his group work, setting the stage for future solo projects.
