Korean rock band DAY6 has achieved another industry milestone by selling out both nights of their upcoming concerts at Goyang Sports Complex, becoming the first domestic band to headline the 41,000-capacity venue.

The Goyang Sports Complex, with its 41,311 seating capacity, will host DAY6's "10th Anniversary Tour 'The DECADE'" on August 30-31, 2025. Tickets sold out completely after the general public sale opened on August 11, following the fan club presale on August 8.

This achievement marks DAY6 as the first Korean band ever to perform solo concerts at this outdoor stadium, fulfilling the members' long-held dream of performing at an outdoor venue.

Since their September 7, 2015 debut, DAY6 has systematically expanded their venue capacity:

  • 2015: Yes24 Muv Hall (under 1,000 capacity)
  • April 2024: Jamsil Indoor Stadium (34,000 attendees)
  • September 2024: Inspire Arena (40,000 fans)
  • December 2024: Gocheok Sky Dome (38,000 capacity) - first Korean band to headline this venue
  • May 2025: KSPO Dome (96,000 total across six shows)

DAY6 made history last December by becoming the first Korean band to hold a concert at Gocheok Sky Dome, demonstrating their growing influence in the Korean music scene.

Coinciding with their tour, DAY6 will release their fourth full-length album "The DECADE" on September 5, 2025. This marks their first studio album in nearly six years since "The Book of Us: Entropy" in October 2019.

"It's been a long time coming. We've been working on it for about a year, starting last September," said Young K, while Wonpil added that they've been working on it whenever possible.

The Goyang concerts launch an international tour spanning multiple Asian cities. Following Goyang, DAY6 will perform in Bangkok (September 27), Ho Chi Minh City (October 18), Hong Kong (January 17, 2026), Manila (January 24), and Kuala Lumpur (January 31).

Earlier this year, DAY6 members attended Coldplay's concert at the same venue, with Young K shedding tears during the experience. Now, just months later, they will perform on that same stage.

"We were at the Coldplay concert, and I cried so much," Young K reflected. "We're going to give it our all. My personal goal is to cry at least during the ending of the concert."

DAY6's success represents a significant shift in the Korean music industry, where bands traditionally played secondary roles to idol groups in terms of commercial success and venue scale. Their achievements have opened new possibilities for future Korean bands.

The four-member group-Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon-continues to break barriers, proving that authentic band music can achieve massive commercial success in Korea's competitive entertainment landscape.
